Dental Coverage For Niagara College Students
At Welland Dental Centre, protecting and strengthening the oral health of our community members is our priority. To that end, we’re happy to provide the following information regarding dental coverage for Niagara College students.

Domestic Students:
Upon registering with Niagara College, students are automatically enrolled into the Student Accident Insurance Plan (which is overseen by the Student Administrative Council). They are also provided with a brochure that details their coverage.
It’s important that each student realizes that they are responsible for covering their personal health insurance. Ontario-based students should inquire about their health coverage with their family, and students who hail from other provinces should utilize their provincial plan’s health coverage while attending Niagara College.
While most full-time students will be charged a Health Care Fee for benefits administered by the Student Administrative Council, coverage for Health and Dental benefits extends from September 1st to August 31st each school year. Students who begin school in January have benefit coverage from January 1st to August 31st while students starting school in May will be covered from May 1st to August 31st.
International Students:
Foreign students are insured by a mandatory private health insurance coverage that’s provided through StudentGuard at a cost of approximately $60/month. This fee is included within tuition fees for international students.
Niagara College automatically enrolls all international students into a health insurance policy through StudentGuard Health Insurance, and students usually receive their insurance card within a month of the beginning of classes. Please contact Niagara College’s International Student Advisor if you haven’t received your card.
